Table of Contents
Project Overview
"United By Flavors" invites 30 young participants (aged 18 to 26) and 6 group leaders from Italy, France, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, and Türkiye.
In this project, we will use cooking and sharing food as a "universal language" to connect different cultures and promote social inclusion. The main goal of this youth exchange is to empower young people, especially those who face daily challenges or are currently not working or studying (NEETs), to build self-confidence, break down stereotypes, and make new friends from all over Europe.
Through fun, hands-on cooking workshops, cultural nights, and digital activities, you will learn how food connects to our personal identity and history. You will also improve your teamwork, communication, and digital skills by creating a Multimedia Digital Cookbook, audio podcasts, and short social media videos (for TikTok and Instagram). At the same time, we will learn about the environment, focusing on green habits and how to reduce food waste in our daily lives.
By focusing on food and culture, we want to create a generation of open-minded young leaders who celebrate diversity and know how to build stronger, more welcoming communities. This project will give you a fantastic intercultural experience, boost your personal growth, and help us build a more united and sustainable European future!
Working Methods
👥 Hands-on Cooking & Digital Workshops: Get ready to roll up your sleeves! You will dive into lively cooking sessions where we prepare delicious traditional dishes using sustainable, zero-waste ingredients. We will also have fun digital workshops to learn how to create cool content for social media.
🤝 Creative Group Projects: Team up with your new friends from different countries to create amazing things together! We will co-create a Multimedia Digital Cookbook, record our own audio podcasts, and shoot short "Video Pills" for TikTok and Instagram. It’s all about teamwork, having fun, and using our creativity to share our cultures.
🔄 Peer-to-Peer Learning: You and your national team will actually lead some of the activities! You will share your traditional recipes, cultural stories, and experience with food. It's a fantastic chance to step into a leadership role, see new perspectives, and learn directly from each other.
🎭 Cultural & Green Challenges: Join fun, interactive missions like our "Green Challenge," where national teams will compete in daily sustainable actions like reducing food waste and recycling. We will also go on exciting outdoor activities, like a cultural city hunt in beautiful Tropea and Pizzo, to discover the territory and meet local producers together.
🌙 Evening Reflections & Digital Journaling: Each day winds down with a chill moment in our "circle time" to reflect. We will use a journal to think over what you’ve learned, track your personal goals for your Youthpass, and see how you can bring these fresh ideas back home to spark change.
Participant Profile
🌍 Diverse Participation: 37 people in total (30 young participants, 6 group leaders, and 1 expert facilitator from Italy) from Italy, France, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, and Türkiye will gather in Filadelfia, Italy, for this amazing project. Each national team will consist of 5 participants (aged 18 to 26) and 1 group leader.
🤝 Inclusive Mix: We strongly welcome young newcomers to Erasmus+ projects! A big part of our youth exchange is about inclusion, so we are looking for young people who might face daily challenges, such as those living in rural areas, facing economic obstacles, having a migrant background, or who are currently not working or studying (NEETs). To promote a truly inclusive environment, each team will include at least 2 participants with fewer opportunities.
👩🍳 Age Range & Interests: Participants aged 18-26 should have a strong interest in food, culture, and meeting new people. You don't need to be a professional chef! You just need to be curious, open-minded, and excited to learn about sustainable cooking (like zero food waste), share your local traditions, and help create digital content like podcasts and social media videos.
🧭 Group Leadership: Each team will be led by an experienced youth worker or group leader. Their role is to guide, motivate, and support the participants before, during, and after the project, making sure everyone feels safe and included. There is no age limit for group leaders.
🗣️🇬🇧 Language: The working language is English. Effective communication is essential, but please don't worry if your English isn't perfect, mutual understanding, helping each other, and sharing a smile (or a good meal!) are our main goals!
📢🤝 Commitment to Engagement: Erasmus+ is not just a holiday! Participants are expected to actively engage during the project activities in Italy, but also in the preparation and the follow-up. When you go back home, you and your team will organize local events (like photo exhibitions, tastings, or Digital Food Challenges on social media) to share your beautiful experience with your local community.
